WORLDS ASUNDER

2018 - Present

"Octavius Sparrow may have led our species to greatness almost singlehandedly, and with his hands tied behind his back at that. But even revitalite cannot keep him alive forever – and nor can it do the same for me. He and his legions of admirers may not realise it yet, but he has done all he can to make this world a better place. I believe the time has come for a new generation of leaders to take the reins of progress."

Worlds Asunder: Work

Worlds Asunder is a science fiction universe depicting a Cold War set in a future vision of our own Solar System that humanity has colonised for itself. Inspired heavily by the Frencoverse I work on with friends, as well as military fiction, spy thrillers and popular action movies alike, Worlds Asunder aims to create a strong narrative within a plausible showcase of what the future of mankind may look like in one hundred and twenty years' time. It is a dark, unforgiving world where humanity has emerged from crises yet to befall the real world, only to create new ones as many of the problems of Earth spread throughout and plague the rest of the Solar System.

The storyline itself is intended to be structured as a multi-perspective narrative, a format inspired by George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. This iteration of the twenty second century is witnessed through the eyes of both sides of the futuristic Cold War that dominates the heliopolitical sphere. The first book, Ardent Red, tells the story from the point of view of Edward Frost, a security officer for a major corporation aligned with the West (or rather its futuristic evolution of it). Future sequels will show the worlds from other perspectives, such as the Commonwealth of Mars that opposes Earth's hegemony.

Although certain liberties are taken for the sake of plot, Worlds Asunder strives to keep its technology as realistic and believable as possible to maintain its authenticity. Chief of all is the lack of commercial faster-than-light travel, a staple of other science fiction universes that depict outer space. Additionally, energy weapons - another important component of sci fi - behave as closely as they would in real life, if they ever enter military service.

Check out the books I've written for it below, and hopefully you'll enjoy reading Worlds Asunder as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

ARDENT RED

Out Now

In the mid twenty-second century, humanity has evolved to colonise its native solar system. The era of geopolitics has passed into history – in its place has risen the rule of supranational alliances, multi-trillion dollar megacorporations and those who dwell in the lawless frontier, all seeking to profit from the nigh infinite riches of outer space.

Under the noses of the billions of asteroid miners, corporate aristocrats and criminal overlords that call the Asteroid Belt and beyond their home, a shadow war is brewing. The old nations of Earth trade death stares with the Commonwealth of Mars, a fascist, heavily militarised world state, with both blocs preparing to stake their claim on an unsuspecting solar system.

Edward Frost, a special forces operative turned corporate security officer on Ceres, thought he could escape the coming storm. Little does he know that the powers to be have bigger plans for him and his family – plans that take shape when one side of the shadow war draws first blood on his world of refuge.
